Finals MVP: The NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award was first presented in 1969. Jerry West of the Los Angeles Lakers was the first winner and remains the only Finals MVP from the losing team.

The championships from 1946-47 through 1948-49 were played under the Basketball Association of America (BAA). The league became the NBA beginning with the 1949-50 season.
